Alkalising for Acid Erosion of the Teeth

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Acid erosion is a common tooth problem seen by dentists.

Dentist even know that food has a large part to play in it. Acidic foods like fruit, sugar and fizzy drinks cause this acid erosion. Click here for a list of acidic foods.

Dentists will sell you a toothpaste to  help combat acid erosion, they also tell you the damage is permanent. What dentists don’t usuall tell you is that you can prevent or even reverse acid erosion with an alkaline diet. It’s so simple eat more alkaline food and less acidic foods and the acid cannot erode the teeth. Increase your uptake of alkaline minerals such as Dr Robert Youngs pHour Salts. Use baking soda or the pHour salts as a mouth wash. These are highly alkaline and will neutralise acid in the mouth.

At my last visit to the dentist, I was told one of my teeth had re-mineralised, so there had been a hole and it had repaired itself. I put it down to my increased intake of alkaline food and supplements.
