Digestive enzymes seem to be all the rage in America, the cure all! They American holistic practitioners will tell us we are not breaking down protein very well and we produce less enzymes as we age so we must supplement to improve our health.
What they don’t tell us is that we eat far to much cooked food, cooking kills the enzymes, raw foodist’s get plenty of enzymes. What they also don’t tell us is that our bodies are not designed to eat meet! There is no place in our digestive tract for meat, it is long and slow designed to absorb plant food.
So yes digestive enzymes break down the meat but we shouldn’t be eating the meat in the first place. We are also made of ‘meat’ therefore, the digestive enzymes also breakdown us! Causing damage to our intestines.
