I get many emails asking for high strength Vitamin D3, you just can’t get it on the high street.

In Boots and Holland & Barratt you can only find Vitamin D3, 1000IU.

Dr Robert Young produced a very high strength Vitamin D3 and like me, many of you felt the benefits of it, especially living in a not so sunny climate!

If you feel you need a boost of sunshine, you can now buy a 5000IU Vitamin D3.

Click here to buy 5000IU Vitamin D3 today!

Why’s it so important?

Sunlight and vitamin D are critical to all life forms.

Standard textbooks state that the principal function of vitamin D is to promote calcium absorption in the gut and calcium transfer across cell membranes, thus contributing to strong bones and a calm, contented nervous system.

It is also well recognized that vitamin D aids in the absorption of magnesium, iron and zinc, as well as calcium.

Actually, vitamin D does not in itself promote healthy bone. If there is not enough calcium in the diet, then it will be drawn from the bone to help maintain the alkalinity of the bodily fluids.

Receptors for vitamin D are found in most of the cells in the body and research during the 1980s suggested that vitamin D contributed to a healthy immune system, promoted muscle strength, regulated the maturation process and contributed to hormone production.

During the last ten years, researchers have made a number of discoveries about vitamin D. They have ascertained, that vitamin D is an antioxidant that is a more effective antioxidant than vitamin E in reducing lipid peroxidation and increasing enzymes that protect against oxidation.

Vitamin D may protect against both Type I and Type II diabetes.

PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) has been corrected by supplementation of D and calcium.

Vitamin D plays a role in regulation of both the “infectious” immune system and the “inflammatory” immune system.

Low vitamin D is associated with several autoimmune diseases including multiple sclerosis, Sjogren’s Syndrome, rheumatoid, thyroiditis and Crohn’s disease.

Osteoporosis is strongly associated with low vitamin D.

Vitamin D deficiency has been mistaken for fibromyalgia, ME or peripheral neuropathy.

Infertility is associated with low vitamin D. Vitamin D supports production of estrogen in men and women.

PMS has been completely reversed by addition of calcium, magnesium and vitamin D.

Breast, prostate, skin and colon cancer have a strong association with low levels of D and lack of sunlight.

People with Parkinsons and Alzheimers have been found to have lower levels of vitamin D.

Low levels of D, and perhaps calcium, in a pregnant mother and later in the child may be the contributing cause of “crooked teeth” and myopia.

Many researchers have postulated that vitamin D deficiency leads to the deposition of calcium in the arteries and hence atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries).

Obesity is associated with vitamin-D deficiency.

So unless you’re lucky enough to enjoy the winter soaking up the winter sun, you need to supplement your vitamin D to maintain a healthy body!

This must be why us Brits crave the sun so much!

Jon’s 5 day detox ended on Friday. He weighed, 94.9kg. That’s a loss of 1.5kgs in just 5 days. He also lost 1/2 inch from his waist. Jon was amazed at the mental clarity and focus he had by the end of the week. He felt more productive ans efficient when working.

Jon has now committed to eating and drinking this way on weekdays and allowing himself to have a treat at weekends. He found drinking 3 litres of doc brocs a day surprisingly easy and the food was really tasty and enjoyable.

Yesterday was day 2 of Jons detox challenge. He started to experience the usual symptoms of detox; pounding headache, upset stomach, cold and feverish. The complaints were coming thick and fast…am I meant to feel like this, how long will it last? The best thing he could do was to keep drinking his alkalising Doc Brocs and pH Booster to help the body remove the toxins. He didn’t like this solution very much but persisted.

Today Jon woke feeling ‘normal’, the headache had gone and his stomach settled! It should be down hill from here….

I’ve been alkalising for about 3 years now and it all began with a detox which left me feeling amazing! I became hooked and didn’t want to go back to feeling, tired, bloated and sluggish!

I now live with my Fiance Jon, who will eat pretty much anything and has embraced vegan food and green smoothies! He does however manage to consume the odd sausage and bacon bap and drinks alcohol most days. He is now training for a Triathlon and needs to significantly improve his fitness. He realises that alcohol affects his performance and his intake needs to be massively reduced or cut out completely! He is also keen to shift a few pounds and his weight tends to stay pretty constant.

Therefore, I have challenged him to a 5 day detox, making it realistic and avoiding the weekends social activities. To do a successful detox timing and preparation is key!

The Rules:

NO MEAT

NO DAIRY

NO WHEAT

NO CAFFIENE

NO ALCOHOL

NO FRIED FOODS

NO PROCESSED FOODS

NO SUGAR

NO WHITE RICE

NO EGGS

NO FISH

NO SQUASH/CORDIALS/FIZZY DRINKS

NO ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS

Detox Preparation:

Its all about timing: We have cleared a week in our diaries where we have no social functions, no meals out and plenty of time to prepare and cook food. Jon has a week off work and we are staying at home so it’s perfect.

Support: We are doing this together which, I feel is vital for success. I still follow the detox rules most of the time, however, have been letting wheat, especially bread sneak back in.

Writing a menu plan: My next job is to write a 5 day menu, use this to create a shopping list, then do the food shop. This makes life much easier, I know what to cook, the ingredients are there so there’s no excuse to slip ! I will adapt recipes from Carol Vorderman’s Detox recipe book. The recipes are not strictly alkaline, however have cut out the most acidic foods. The recipes are simple, easy to follow and still make me feel great. I will boost our alkalinity with supplements.

Supplements: I have my supplements ready, I usually consume at least 1 litre of Doc Brocs Power plants a day and will boost this back up to 3 litres and add pHion’s pH Booster. This is the bit that most of us struggle with as we are use to being dehydrated! 3 litres seems like a lot, you soon get use to it and the best way to flush acidic toxins out the body is with water. We will also be taking Dr Young’s Montmorillonite Clay, it’s great for cleansing the gut and is packed full of alkaline minerals. It tends to stay lumpy in water so it will be added to our daily green smoothie.

Water Bottle: we a have 1 litre water bottle each so we can ensure we are drinking our 3 litres a day.

Starting point: We will weigh Jon, measure his body fat %, muscle %, water % and waist line so he can see the difference after 5 days.

Scientists at the University of East Anglia are investigating the benefits of Broccoli and Osteoarthrtis (‘wear and tear’) arthritis.

The scientists have found a compound in Broccoli called Sulforaphane blocks the enzyme that causes joint destruction in osteoarthritis.

Our best selling product, Doc Broc’s Power Plants, contains a variety of green vegetables including Broccoli sprouts. Sprouts are what you get when the seed of the plant starts to germinate. Seeds are packed full of energy, ready to produce new life. This energy is unlocked when the seed starts to grow and this powerful energy can be passed onto us by eating the ’sprout’ of a plant. Therefore eating Broccoli Sprouts will give your body many more nutrients than eating the Broccoli itself. Check out Doc Broc’s Power Plants to inject some new life into your body!

I have a 5 week old son and have lived a ’semi’ alkaline lifestyle for 3 years. During my pregnancy I maintained my mainly alkaline/vegan diet with the odd naughty cake! I continued to drink my Doc Broc’s, used the pH Booster and had a daily breakfast smoothie which I added Doc Brocs, Udos oil, clay, pH booster and Vitamin D3.

During the pregnancy I had NO nausea, NO stretch marks, NO constipation, NO varicose veins.

I felt great, I carried on as normal working until the very end. I gained only 1 stone 2 lbs in weight. Theo was born at 38 weeks a weighed a healthy 7lbs 9, he was perfect! The next day I only weighed 4 lbs more than before my pregnancy and I week later I weighed less!

My family, being meat eating farmers are amazed, they now totally respect my food choices. I’m breast feeding Theo as a vegan and at 2 1/2 weeks he weighed 8lbs 10 (who needs milk to make milk! not me!)

Everyone comments on his skin, not a mark or a wrinkle, completely flawless and I can only thank the alkaline diet, Doc Brocs & pH Booster!
